GRIEF GROUP CIRCLE -DAHAB

Grief is one of the hardest emotions to process and move through, while death is the only certainty in life, it is still often hidden, shunned and rarely discussed in the West. It’s been said that humans suffer from two primary feelings of coping with the world in the state it’s currently in - Amnesia and Anaesthesia; to forget and to numb out. Both of which take away what it truly means to be a whole human, and that is to feel in order to heal.

For almost 8 months now we have been bombarded with live streamed images of thousands of deaths of Gazan civilians, as well as our other neighbours in Sudan, also going through a similar silent genocide. No matter how much we may deny, doom scroll or carry on with business as usual, these images, stories and inhumane deaths are affecting our psyches, unconscious minds and lives. We need regular spaces to talk about our Grief in order to process our pain, not repress it.

In this gathering, we welcome everyone into a Safe Space to sit in circle - to connect, breathe, drink tea together, to eventually feel safe enough to share - or not - with others who are also grieving some kind of loss. There is no “Fixing”; only deep listening and respect to everyone who speaks, allowing them to share their pain of loss without interruptions. There is deep healing in being seen and heard, in a safe and inclusive space. We start with a grounding meditation to bring us fully into our bodies and the moment - no previous meditation experience necessary.

In the midst of the pain of Grief, we often lose sight of some of the good things that exist in our lives, so we will likely end with a little gratitude shoutout.

Simple acknowledgment of just one thing which we are deeply grateful for now in our present circumstances and lives.

Informed by my own early experiences of deep grief - the pain of my mother wound from her loss to heart disease at age 10, then my father to alcoholism at 30 - I know how painful, lonely and isolating the grieving process is.

Then on the flip side, how much love and light can shine through us once we move over to the other side of Grief. There is deep Alchemy in this process, which can be seen, felt and embodied over time.

Remember Grief was always meant to be witnessed and shared in community, not on our own or in private.

Your Sorrow, Sadness and Grief Matters..Any questions on the circle or on grieving resources, feel free to email me..

For info on exact meetup location, please WhatsApp me +44 7404891872.

Bless and see some of you next week..xx

MOVE, DREAM, WRITE WORKSHOP - Accessing Your Unconscious Mind

MOVE

Over the past 3 years, Moving has become my Medicine, showing me on days when I feel absolutely stuck how that mirrors in my body through shortness of breath and contractive, repetitive thoughts and on days when I feel great this mirrors in my body with smooth long easy breaths and expansive, light and creative thoughts..

Knowing that we can affect our bodies and minds through breathing and moving is such a POWERFUL tool that's in your hands. It's also the way I start most days as I know with increased awareness that even if I don't want to when I begin - I won't want to stop when I finish as movement feels so good. Any movement that brings you joy, works for you¬

Which is why we're starting this workshop with Movement; a combination of Yoga + 5 Rhythms freestyle unstructured movements to shake off stale energy..

DREAM

We then ground and anchor all that energy down by coming onto the floor to rest, relax and dream in Yoga Nidra. This is a deeply healing practice that returns awareness home to the body through a gently guided visualisation around the body.

Nidra is a Sanskrit word meaning sleep, and Yoga Nidra is often called “the yoga of sleep” because it is a form of guided meditation that uses relaxation and a system of organized and layered awareness to take you through a journey into a liminal state between waking and dreaming consciousness. It is here, in this liminal state, that you discover that your mind, body, and spirit together contain a pathway that leads to the gates of perfect presence, wholeness, and Oneness. Leaves you feeling rejuvenating and restorative.

WRITE

Much like Stream of Conscious writing from the iconic Artists Way; which is done as soon as u wake up. We will write 2-3 pages of uncensored, free association writing from the contents of your mind straight after waking from Nidra.

I do provide a couple of writing prompts to help with this process, as often the words can stop flowing or we start to analyse what we write. Which is not part of the plan! The whole process does wonders for helping to unblock the creative self and creates a bridge between conscious and subconscious minds.

*This unique workshop will get you out of your head and into your body and allow you to access your higher mind and subconscious minds where all healing and integration happens, and deeper wisdom lives.

WHAT TO BRING?

A notebook or journal, a pen, a blanket or shawl, a lavender eye pillow or eye mask, a bottle of water and a smile!

Also as we will be lying down for 30 minutes for the Yoga Nidra part of the workshop, it's ideal for you to bring anything that helps you relax and settle the body so that the mind can also relax and settle, ie a favourite essential oil, a little cushion for the back of your head, extra pair of socks etc.

Any questions or if you wish to discuss this in more detail, feel free to call me on 07404891872 or email maryschnorrenberg@hotmail.com

*Discount applies to BIPOC, please DM me.

MOVE | DREAM | WRITE WORKSHOP - Access your Unconscious Mind

Join us during Samhain/All Hallows Day, marking the end of the harvest and the beginning of the darker half of the year. It is said that during this time the veil between two worlds of the living and the dead is at its thinnest. We can be more open to receiving the wisdom of our ancestors through the unconscious mind, this is a perfect opportunity to allow yourself the time to listen to and process the guidance your intuition receives from them.

We then flow through a 5 Rhythms style of unstructured free movements to shake off stale energy and become more present in our bodies.

YIN + YOGA NIDRA - WINTER WITHDRAWAL

YIN + YOGA NIDRA - WINTER WITHDRAWAL

This Boxing Day I'm inviting you to fully embrace Winter with the Withdrawal into stillness, softness and silence that the season is calling for. The YIN yoga class will be focused on the WINTER theme of turning inwards, which covers the Kidneys and Urinary Bladder; very restorative while the soothing Nidra practice returns awareness home to the whole body, here and now, as it is!

Yin and Yoga Nidra are such soothing practices that compliment each other in the way of Tuning into BE-ing instead of DO-ing..

🧿Yin yoga is mostly floor based poses that are held between 3-5 minutes with lots of props, allowing the stretch to be felt deeply into fascia and connective tissue.

A general sene of heavy, groundedness is felt after a Yin class, which is perfectly in tune with this Winter season of withdrawing into slow and still vibes.

🧿Nidra too is a Yin a PRACTICE, which allows your whole body to experience deep nourishing rest as we return awareness home to your body through a guided visualisation JOURNEY. Which can and does often take your mind into altered states of consciousness which is deeply restorative and rejuvenating. Can and often does contribute to vivid dreams when you go to actual sleep.

🧿Who's this for?

People who are YANG, ie always on the go, restless ones that rarely relax, slow down or just can't stop DO-ing.

🧿What do you need to do?

Create a cosy comfort space conducive to the Winter theme.Take the time beforehand to burn some incense and a couple of candles. Make yourself a nourishing brew of herbal tea (rosemary, cloves + juniper berries are perfect for NOW!)

Also bring an eye pillow, mask or scarf to cover your eyes, a shawl or small blanket, 2 blocks or heavy books and a bolster or rolled up blankets as a makeshift bolster.

Class is £8 if working or £5 donation if not!

Any questions DM me and please feel free to share with any friends/fam who may also need this nourishing, nurturing practice right now.

Enjoy your week and have a wonderful Christmas if you are celebrating.

Looking forward to some radical REST Together this Sunday.

🧿Inhale..exhale..

YIN +YOGA NIDRA

Yoga Nidra is an invitation to come as you are, lie down and allow your body to fully let go into a deep state of relaxation as my voice takes you on a guided meditation / exploration around your physical body.

Session starts with roughly 30 min of Yin Yoga then 45 min Nidra, where you set yourself up with pillows, blankets, lavender eye pillows and bolsters; The idea is that once your body is absolutely comfortable, it can also remain absolutely still and centre.

Nidra translates as Yogic Sleep, or sleep that is yoga, though in fact it's not a sleep but an awakening. It induces complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation.  Swami Rama describes it this way; ' Yoga Nidra is a state of conscious sleep in which one can record what is going on. There is a fine distinction between Yoga Nidra and Samadhi. In Yoga Nidra one can record those experiences which he cannot receive in the conscious state. When one cannot register something properly in the waking state, they can go into Yoga Nidra to register it..'

If you've never tried a Nidra class, you'd be pleasantly surprised at how it helps you feel deeply rejuvenated, as well as with a calm and clear state of mind

FULL MOON WOMEN'S CIRCLE

FULL MOON WOMEN'S CIRCLE

Women’s circles are a magical place for connection with ourselves, our sisters, our tribe. Something that most of us are missing and longing for in our hectic modern lives – that deeper sense of community and connection, sisterhood, belonging and bonding with likeminded women. Here we grow and heal together, so that when we return to our brothers and lovers and boys, we are simultaneously stronger, softer and more secure in ourselves; able to continue holding space for those who need us.

New and full Moons have amazing energy around them, perfect time to re-centre, reflect and set the tone for manifestations for the following month.

We usually start with a meditation, intention setting, then little intros and check ins over a tea ceremony to warm us up. Often we pull out the tarot cards for some fun and guidance , quite quickly we find we are able to relax, go deeper into ourselves -and connect to our own knowing and wisdom.

Every woman has time, space and the opportunity to share anything they’d like to, with no interruptions from other woman; a deep listening space is offered and so necessary to healing.

We share food at the end and have a nice meditation to close..

Open to all women, liminals POC and non-binary welcome.

See you all soon!

Namaste x

Full Moon Women's Circle
Jul
14
8:00 pm20:00

Full Moon Women's Circle

Really pleased to share that I will finally be starting a new monthly women’s circle- held either on Full moon night or the Sunday closest to the Full moon!

What?

Women’s circles— are safe, sacred spaces for us to tune out of daily life and demands, reconnect to our divine feminine, to our wisdom, strength and passion. The practice is informally infused with elements of my training in yoga, meditation, movement, ancient Egyptian heritage, chakra knowledge, and moon magic. Each circle is a gift and each woman joining is adding her flavour to the larger circle of sisterhood and solidarity, which is often lacking in today’s world.

We sit in a circle, start with a check in; a chance to share who you are, how you’re truly feeling and have a few minutes each to speak about anything you desire. There is true power in just being heard, really listened to. No advice is offered and no interruptions for each speaker. No obligation to speak either for shy or first timers..

At the end of the session, we will have a light meal, so please do bring anything homemade or that you wish to share to add to the mood of nourishment and connection. After all food is life.

Why? To heal, connect and provide support for one another. Safe spaces for women to let go, share and connect without the male gaze, without the need to be in business or professional persona mode. To completely and utterly allow oneself to just be.

Intimate gatherings where women discuss goals, concerns, stories, and advice—have been around since ancient times. Across history there have been many societies including Ancient Egyptians, native Americans to the Ulithi of the South Pacific, to the Beng of Africa’s Ivory Coast, where Women’s circles and Red tents were the norm.

In the temples of India, Egypt, Greece, Rome, Sumeria, and ancient Europe, women were taught to develop their powers of perception, intuition, and how to refine the powerful energy of emotion. They learned how to awaken nurture and enhance their feminine gifts. Today, women are reclaiming their spiritual power and innate wisdom, creating community and taking up leadership once more.

When? Full moon night or the closest to Sunday to the full moon.

We will cover varying topics and themes including Self Love, Forgiveness, Family, Friendships, Transitions, Health & Wellness, Moon Circles, and more.

Intention setting will be a major part of the Women’s Circles, which doesn’t need to be voiced however highly useful for each participant to have an Intention they wish to connect to and manifest from and through that space.

There is no obligation to share or speak unless one wants to, but no interruptions or unsolicited advice to any other ladies who choose to speak.

Any questions, please do get in touch!
